The Gaelic for Kinlochleven is 'Ceann Loch Leamhain' meaning 'head of Loch Leven'. Kinlochleven is a Highland village with a population of just over 1000. It is located at the head of Loch Leven. It is a popular stopping off point for West Highland Way walkers after climbing the renowned Devil's Staircase from Glen Coe. After a night's rest here you face the last 20 mile stretch to Fort William.

At the visitor centre you will find an exhibition telling the story of the last century; how aluminium was manufactured using hydro-electricity and how the village developed.
Grey Mare's Waterfall - one of the most spectacular water falls in Scotland. There is a way marked path to the falls starting from St Paul's Church in Kinlochleven.
How to get there..
From Glasgow by Car: Follow the A 82 to Glencoe village. Turn right onto the B 863 and follow it along the shore of Loch Leven for 6.5 miles to Kinlochleven.
By Coach: Take 915 service from Buchanan Street Bus Station to Glencoe Hotel. Journey time 2 hr. 32 mins. Walk to Glencoe Junction (2 mins) and take No 44 bus to Kinlochleven (15 mins)
